Hospital Chaplaincy was implemented and sustained by the Public Hospitals Authority as an integral part of our healthcare services providing ministry on a spiritual level to foster a holistic approach to patient care.  The Hospital Chaplain provides an ecumenical approach to patient care services, which must include pastoral sensitivity to staff and family.  It is not intended for the Hospital Chaplain to replace the patient’s own religious representative but rather to act as a coordinator or expediter on behalf of patient and family religious needs.

Pastors from various religious denominations throughout Grand Bahama voluntarily serve as Chaplains within the Grand Bahama Health Services.
